Admission Process Submission of application documents and Key dates  Application form and scholarship application : Application forms will be available online from September 13 th to October 15 th until 17:00 o’clock.  Documents submission: All documents including application forms should be submitted in person or by post mail (DHL, Fedex, EMS, etc.) between October 4 th and 19 th until 17:00 o’clock.  Documents Screening by respective departments: November 10 th ~ 23 rd  Evaluation by the Graduate School Board: November 30 th  Announcement of Successful applicants : December 8 th (Wed)  Issuance of the formal certificate of Admission : During January  Review by the Immigration Office : During January and February (in case of Chinese applicants)  Applying for Student Visa : During January and February - Successful applicants must apply for a student visa at the Korean Embassy or Consulate in the countries they live. - Those who are already in Korea should visit the Immigration office to get a proper student Visa(D-2).

Documents for Application (1)  Application form (Print out the filled form after on-line application and sign it before submitting)  Resume (Designated form/download)  Certificates of degree / Diplomas (Original or notarized copy in English or Korean)  Official transcripts (Original or notarized copy in English or Korean)  Recommendation letter (From a professor of the university you recently attended; it must include detailed contact information & signature and date)  Copies of passport  Personal Statement (Designated form/download)  Study Plan (Designated form/download)  Certificate of Bank Balance (US$ 5,000 or more deposited over a period of one month, valid until January of 2011)  Certificate of Language Proficiency -TOEIC/TOEFL/IELTS/TOPIK (If applicable) (Strongly recommended for those who apply for international scholarship award from the Graduate School)  Letter of Consent (Designated form/download)  Certificates of parents' nationality (official documents of Citizenship, or copies of parents' passports)

Documents for Application (2)  Additional documents requirement for Chinese applicants  中國高等敎育學歷査詢報告 ( – Including the photo, valid until the early of November in 2010  居民身分證 - A copy of ID card  居民戶口簿 - Copies of Applicant’s, parents’, brothers’, and sisters’  父母在職證明書直 – Original Certificate with contact information of the company  父母年收入證明書 – Original Certificate with contact information of the company  Applicants for Doctoral program should submit original certificates of degree, graduation, and transcripts of both Bachelor and Master’s.  For more information, visit ( p) p  All documents should be in English or in Korean.

Scholarships (1)  Jungseok International Scholarship  Full or Half tuition waived  Scholarship students in spring and fall semester of 2011  Requirements for scholarship application In order to receive Jungseok Int’l Scholarship applicants must meet Condition (1) or (2): (1) Have obtained a Grade Point Average (GPA) over 80% in the previous degree (2) Have at least one of the Language Proficiency Certificates mentioned in the Table right Type of ScholarshipFull ScholarshipHalf Scholarship Number of Students8040 LanguageProficiency TestScore English TOEFL PBT540 or above CBT207 or above IBT76 or above TOEIC700 or above TEPS600 or above IELTS5.5 or above KoreanTOPIKLevel 3 or above

Scholarships (2)  Scholarship Duration  Scholarship selection criteria  In the first semester, the amount of scholarship will be decided on the basis of admission evaluation. (Evaluation Factors : Your GPA from the previous degree program, Study plan, Language Proficiency, Interview, etc.)  From the second semester and onwards, international students will be evaluated every semester, which will determine the amount of scholarship to be awarded. (Evaluation Factors: Accomplishment of study plan, GPA in the previous semester, language ability, dissertation accomplishments and research participation during your study at Inha University. Scholarships (3)  Additional Scholarships In addition to Jungseok International Scholarship, qualified students may also be eligible to receive the following financial supports during their study at Inha university : 1. Assistantship  Scholarship for Laboratory Assistant : 1~2 million KRW / semester  Scholarship for Teaching Assistant : 1~1.45 million KRW / semester  Scholarship for Office Assistant : 500,000 KRW / month * Appointed by respective department (semester based) 2. Tuition and Fees  Entrance fee : KRW 979,000 (Only in the first semester)  Student Union fee : KRW 8,000 (Every Semester)  Tuition (2010) * Tuition can be changed in  Students should print out the tuition bill through the University’s web-based INS Program( and visit the Finance Team on the 1 st floor of the main building. Even if you are awarded the full scholarship, you should follow these steps. After your arrival at Inha (1)  Student ID number assigned : in the early of February  Course Registration : in the early of February  Enrollment (Pay the tuition & fees) : in the last week of February  Submit the application for the Korean language Placement Test : in the last week of February * Those who hold more than level 3 of TOPIK should get confirmation from the graduate school office.  Take the Korean Language Placement Test (if required): Early March  Take the Personality Test (mandatory) : Early March  Attend the Orientation on life at Inha : Early March  Take the Health Insurance : in the first week of March * You can chose between Dongbu insurance(designated by Inha University, which costs about 48,000KRW for 6 months) or any other insurance policy at your own.

After your arrival at Inha (2)  Course registration through INS  You can register the courses online by logging in to the web page(  You will be given an id and password by the early of February.  Korean Language Course  Completing Korean Language Course (Beginner & Intermediate) is mandatory for graduation.  If your TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean Level) level is 3 or higher, you are exempted from taking this course.  Korean Language courses do not bear any credits.  There will be a Korean Language Placement Test in the beginning of each semester to assign a certain level to you.

After your arrival at Inha (3)  Apply for Alien Registration Card  within 90 days of your arrival in Korea  Apply for Student ID Card  After obtaining the Alien Registration Card and buying a mandatory insurance policy  Required documents  You must submit a copy of your Passport and Alien Registration Card to the international center during March. Information about Campus Life (1)  Dormitory Application Upon getting permission from your adviser professor you need to fill out the Dormitory application form and submit it to the dormitory office by .  Type of Rooms available: - Quadruple (with Shared bathroom & shower) - Double A (with Shared bathroom & shower) - Double B (with Private bathroom & shower)  Dormitory Fee Dormitory fee varies from 850,000 to 1,400,000 KRW per semester (Those willing to stay during the vacations have to pay extra charges.)  Off-campus Housing  One-room type rent (Generally on yearly contract basis)  Usually equipped with a fridge, air-conditioner, washing machine, closet, gas burner, gas-heating equipments etc.  Deposit money : 2.0~3.0 million KRW  Monthly rent : 200,000~400,000 KRW  Unfurnished rooms (Generally without key money and contract)  150,000~250,000 KRW per month

Information about Campus Life (2)  Extending VISA or Period of stay  Foreign students should visit the Immigration Office to extend their VISA one month before the expiration  General D-2 Visa Period  Documents required for VISA Extension  Passport  Alien Registration Card  Certificate of enrollment  Academic Transcript  Certificate of scholarship (The Graduate Office will provide.)  International students who have completed required credits can extend VISA only for a limited period (Master’s course for 1 year and Doctoral course for 2 years) CourseMasterDoctoralIntegrated Period2 years3 years4 years

Information about Campus Life (3) In case…  … you change your residence or phone number.  … you want to visit your home country during the semester or vacation.  You need to report in advance to the Graduate School Office immediately.
