Roles and Responsibilities

Regional Professionals Chair Duties Manage Region II Professionals Executive Board (R2PEB) Member of & liaison to Regional Executive Board and Professionals Executive Board Oversee all R2PEB meetings Oversee and ultimately responsible for the regional budget Oversee directives for the year Visionary

Chapter President’s Duties Manage Chapter Executive Board Liaison to R2PEB via Chair-Elect Preside over all chapter meetings Chapter Spokesperson Decision Maker (final) Responsible for chapter budget Motivator Visionary Understand the board dynamic All other duties listed in chapter constitution & bylaws

Regional Professionals Parliamentarian Duties Resource on the national governing documents and parliamentarian procedures Help guide and keep chapters informed of upcoming parliamentary changes Ensure chapter governing documents are in line with regional and national direction Coordinate regional election procedures at the National Convention

Chapter Parliamentarian’s Duties Ensure Delegate Identification Resource concerning Governing Documents and Parliamentary Procedure Update Governing Documents Host Elections Chapter specific duties (i.e. Control Meetings, Robert Rules of Order, etc.)

Step 1: Select Leaders Required Officers President Vice President Treasurer Secretary Required Officers Programs Chair Professional Development Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Telecommunications Parliamentarian Finance/Fundraising

Step 2: Set Chapter Direction Review National and Regional Goals and Objectives Align chapter goals with your region’s goals Identify the needs in your community Incorporate the your member’s professional goals of into the chapter’s goals

Step 3: Get Moving Meet on a consistent basis Insist that your Zone Lead hold Zone Meetings Engage members with content relevant to them Be creative

Step 4: Grow Your Chapter Develop Leaders Conduct professional development activities once a quarter Identify stretch projects that will help the next set of leaders Provide constructive feedback to your chapter leaders Consistent Communication Communicate with chapter members a minimum of once a month Create and maintain Social Media Sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc) Remember its ok to call members

Step 4: Grow Your Chapter Connection with National/Regional/Chapter Counterparts Participate in monthly regional conference calls Encourage our board to participate in the Zone monthly calls Meet once a month with your regional counterpart Submit monthly reports Interact with your chapter counterparts and college chapters in your area
