Come Unto Me

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Are you tired, stressed, and burdened? Why?

Job/boss, school, family issues, loss of job, declining health, taking on too many responsibilities.

Are you carrying all these by yourself? Why?

Jesus is promising you rest.

In the days of Jesus, people were weary and heavy laden with all the Mosaic laws.

Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and love others as yourself.

No smoking No drinking No ball playing No diving off rocks No surfboards No paddleboards No camping No pets No removal of property No loitering HAVE FUN!

Can handle? Can handle…no worry!

Make Christ your first resort so you don’t have to carry the burden unnecessarily.

Spiritual rest comes by acknowledging that you have given it to Jesus and don’t have to worry about it.

If you’re not experiencing this spiritual rest then ask yourself if you have surrendered 100% of your troubles to Jesus.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.

- He carries the heavy burden - He leads, we follow - We’re still working - We’re still moving forward - We’re learning as we’re working What can we learn from being yoked with Christ:

What did Jesus mean when he said, “learn from me”.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35

- Be physically refreshed - Be spiritually renewed - To keep focus on his mission - To carry out God’s will He retreated to prayer to:

Spiritual rest comes from giving everything to Jesus, praying in faith, repentance, surrender, hearing from God, and obeying God.

- Give your burdens to Jesus - Surrender everything to Jesus - Move forward in faith, despite the hardships or circumstances Application:

- Be yoked with Christ - Pray continually - Be filled with joy as you rest in Christ and serve with gladness Application:

Come Unto Me
