Kingdom Consequences “I have not come to bring peace but a sword”
A sword not peace? 34 ‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn ‘“a man against his father, a daughter against her mother,a daughter-in- law against her mother-in-law – 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” 37 ‘Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.’ – Matt 10:34-39

What is the Kingdom? The Kingdom of God is… People living the way that he wants – doing his will on earth as it’s done in heaven.

Living in the Kingdom of Light Will put us ‘against the flow’ Will mean we could face rejection & opposition Will be difficult at times Will demand endurance and patience Means putting Jesus Christ first Means listening to what he says and then doing it (which will make us resilient) Means getting rid of our baggage from the Kingdom of Darkness Means receiving the help God offers (strength and wisdom from his Spirit, forgiveness)
Our Father in heaven, May your holy name be honoured, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. And finally…
