HOLY SPIRIT SETS YOU FREE Jesus wants to set you free

IN PAIRS: 61 The Spirit of the Sovereign L ORD is on me, because the L ORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken- hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a] 2 to proclaim the year of the L ORD ’s favoura (Isaiah) (Isaiah) Jesus came for the: poor Broken hearted Freedom for the captives Release from darkness for the prisoners What is it that Jesus sets people free from?

SO HOW DO WE GET FREE? Get out of your Prisoner

After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover. So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. ‘Quick, get up!’ he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, ‘Put on your clothes and sandals.’ And Peter did so. ‘Wrap your cloak round you and follow me,’ the angel told him. Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. 10 They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him. Then Peter came to himself and said, ‘Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.’ Acts 4:4-11

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO BE FREE? What did the church have to do? Pray What did Peter have to do? He had to obey and get up not stay in the chains. He had clothe himself and move out of the prison he was in How can we be free, like Peter? Pray and be with God Obey what He is telling you to do. Get up and not stay down Clothe ourselves with God- His armour, be hidden with Christ. Let God’s grace cover your sin. Move into freedom

Acts 16: 25: About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, ‘Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!’ The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.’ Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptised. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God – he and his whole household. When it was daylight, the magistrates sent their officers to the jailer with the order: ‘Release those men.’ The jailer told Paul, ‘The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace

WHAT DID PAUL AND SILAS DO? They prayed and they worshipped and they were set free They spoke the Word of God and the jailer and his household were set free into the Kingdom of Light What do we need to do? We need to pray! We need to worship God in all times, when we worship we not only glorify God but we need up getting blessed and set free. We need to speak the word of God to ourselves and to others. It is our sword.

SO, IF YOU WANT TO BE FREE TODAY: Decide you are not going to stay in the place you are in. Get up and listen to the Holy Spirt Let God cover your sin and shame Commit to walking out of the prison Walk in freedom by continuing to pray, worship ad be in the Word of God.
