In the Classroom... Throughout the year students have learned a tremendous amount of content knowledge. To prepare our students for the Milestones test, teachers have used a wide variety of teaching methods, differentiated lessons, and multiple types of assessments to insure student growth. Within the classrooms the teachers use many ways to review a prepare for the Georgia Milestones. These include but are not limited to… ●Study Guide Packets *Differentiated Lessons ●Coach Books * Re-Teach Activities and Lesson ●Textbook Activities * Teacher Guided Instruction and Lessons

What you and your student can do at home... At home students need to continue to study for their content areas of the Georgia Milestones. Parents and guardians can be a great help by simply having them study with someone and read aloud the content. Teachers have provided many outside resources that can help with this process such as… Teacher websites ○Teacher websites can be found on the Ware Middle Website. These websites hold tons of information, daily lessons, review games and helpful links to insure that your students does his or her best. ●Quizlet ○Great website for vocabulary practice ●Take home study guides and review packets ●Hand Make Flashcards

ELA Language Arts, Reading, & Writing Resources and Review

In the Classroom... Reading and writing is important for learning in ALL content areas, so we have worked hard this year to ensure our students are reading and writing daily. Our students have practiced using evidence to support their ideas and writing throughout the school year and will continue. Strategies used in the classroom to prepare students and ensure growth: ●Differentiated lessons to meet the needs of ALL students ●Interactive journals/learning logs ○A record of learning and writing that summarizes the year ●Acuity (online program that mirrors the Milestones test) includes writing ●Online programs that allow students to enter writing pieces and receive feedback ○Google Classroom, Schoology, and Study Island

What you and your student can do at home... At home students need to continue to study for their content areas of the Georgia Milestones. Parents and guardians can be a great help by simply having them study with someone and read aloud the content. Teachers have provided many outside resources that can help with this process such as… Take interactive notebooks/learning logs home Study Island, a great combination of ELA standards (reading, LA, and writing) ●Hand Make Flashcards ●READ! ○Have a conversation about what they have read.

All of these activities are meant to keep your child engaged and learning!
