The Global Forum on Agricultural Research is a multi stakeholder platform for dialogue on critical issues related to agricultural research for development, advocate and facilitate collaborative action through partnerships and assess impact of these actions.

Lack of political commitment resulting in huge gap in investment Inadequate attention to many contextual factors required for impact on agricultural productivity especially of small holder farmers Poor linkage between research processes and development agenda Lack of involvement of all relevant stakeholders Difficulty in defining national AR4D priorities and actions and lack of effective mechanisms to put these priorities into action

 Why hasn’t existing knowledge better benefited the poor?  Why have many apparently effective technologies not been adopted?  Why isn’t agricultural innovation better valued in development?  How can we build more collective action towards large scale development impacts?
