Spring Festival Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. In the evening before the Spring Festival, families get together and have a big meal.In many places people like to set off firecrackers.Dumplings are the most traditional food.Children like the festival very much, because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes. They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck. People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune.

Tomb Sweeping Day Tomb Sweeping Day is the most important holiday of sacrifice held April 5. According to the old tradition, People usually carry goods such as fruit, paper money to the tombs and sweep tombs.Besides the traditions of honoring the dead, people also often fly kits on Tomb Sweeping Day.

Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month. It’s said that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan. He committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fishes to prevent them from eating Qu's body. They also sat on dragon boats, and tried to scare the fishes away by the thundering sound. Today, people eat zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fishes) and race dragon boats in memory of Qu's death.

Mid-Autumn Festival The origin of Mid-Autumn Festival

How do people celebrate this holiday ?

A few days before the festival, everyone in the family will help to make the house clean and beautiful. Lanterns will be hung in front of the house. On the evening there will be a big family dinner. People who work far away from their homes will try to come back for the union. After dinner, people will light the lanterns which are usually red and round. Children will play with their own toy lanterns happily.

At night the moon is usually round and bright. People can enjoy the moon while eating moon- cakes which are the special food for this festival. They can look back on the past and look forward to the future together.

Thank you!
