All of us have taken what we have for granted, and seldom think about the value of life. Yet, Helen Keller, the both blind and deaf people, taught us how to make the most of our wonderful sense to appreciate life with love and passion. She had made her life valuable by herself.

In 1882 a baby girl caught a fever that was so fierce she nearly died. She survived but the fever left its mark — she could no longer see or hear. Because she could not hear she also found it very difficult to speak. At the beginning, she became rude. When she took something that she didn’t know, she would throw and broke it.

Just before her seventh birthday, the family hired a private tutor — Anne Sullivan. 她找到了她的老师。 Anne was careful to teach Helen especially those subjects in which she was interested. . She had phenomenal powers of concentration and memory, as well as a dogged determination to succeed. With Anne Sullivan’s help, Helen Keller became more optimistic and learn more about the world. Helen proved to be a remarkable scholar, graduating with honor from Radcliffe College in 1904.
