Day 1: Arrive Hanoi 6/7/2016 The charm from the French colonial era still resonates in the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi a city of broad boulevards lined with tamarind trees and numerous lakes. Arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi. Suggestion: 2 Vietnamese hostesses in traditional Ao Dai costume will welcome the group at the airport and present a flower necklace At the arrival hall, welcome by your guide. Bus transfer to Hanoi (1 hr) with separate luggage transfer. Welcome drink on arrival at the hotel, check-in (from 14:00 unless special request). Suggestion: Tailor will take measurements to make a traditional Ao Dai dress for every woman and a silk shirt for every gentleman, to be worn at a specIal dinner later in the trip. Start discovering the capital of Vietnam by visiting some of its major historical highlights : the exterior of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum ( due to the change in opening times and also the waiting time to enter, we don’t recommend to visit the interior), the One pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts situated in the garden of the former presidential palace. Take a Cyclo ride (the Vietnamese rickshaw) through the old district of Hanoi and its commercial streets called "District of the 36 corporations". A very nice way to get acquainted with Vietnam’s capital. Day 2: Hanoi 6/7/2016 Suggestion: Tai Chi session in the early morning at Quan Thanh temple. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant TREASURE HUNT IN THE OLD DISTRICT OF HANOI The mission is to collect 10 items within a limited amount of time while walking through the most typical and fascinating part of Hanoi. The group is divided in teams and are given a road book, a map and a phrasebook to find their way. They also have a limited amount of money and a camera to take pictures of pre-defined items. The grade of difficulty can be varied. Meet at finishing line at a fixed time and place. Evaluation and prize-giving possible for dinner. Additional options: video teams and/or photographers to record the team’s fun adventures. Vietnamese Buffet Lunch at Brother’s Café RestaurantBrother’s Café Restaurant Suggestion: DRAGON BOAT RACE ON THE WEST LAKE A more physical challenge on Hanoi’s West Lake. Each team will row against the other teams in elimination races in these traditional style boats. The winning team can be rewarded with a trophy and the right to boast. Maximum 5 boats in one race. Life jackets provided, drinks and snacks for the spectators.

Day 2 (continued …) 6/7/2016 Around 1730H. Vietnamese Water Puppets Show at Thang Long Theater The theater can be privatized for the group; otherwise we will manage to get the best seats for you just in front of the stage. The water puppets art appeared in Vietnam several centuries ago. Traditionally shows are given during the rice harvest season or during the village festivals and held on ponds that act as natural backdrop for the puppets that represent characters and animals of the countryside or folk mythology and are manipulated by experts with bamboo sticks. Dinner at the Moon RiverMoon River Return transfer by 16-seat minivans due to narrow streets near the venue. Welcome cocktail and canapés in the patio garden will be offered on arrival while a traditional Dragon dance is performed. Vietnamese specialties will be served for dinner in an ancient wooden house spectacularly restored to resemble an authentic Buddhist temple complete with shrine for ancestor worship and other antiquities (private section). A troupe of musicians and folk dancers in traditional attire will perform throughout the evening. Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay 6/7/2016 Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Suggestion: Transfer to the Railway station to catch the morning regional local train from Hanoi to Hai Duong, a chance to explore a kind of local transportation and the vendors’ lives along the railway. Snack and free flow of beers, soft drinks, mineral water, tea and coffee. Arrive in Hai Duong and continue by coaches to Halong Bay. Leave the hotel for Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site with 3,000 spectacular limestone islands rising dramatically from the emerald green water of the bay. Enjoy the journey through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalos and everyday Vietnamese village life. Arrive in Ha Long after 3:30 hours drive, and board the fleet of junks chartered for the group. Welcome drink on board. A Seafood Lunch is served while cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay. Day 4: Halong – Hanoi / Danang – Hoi An 6/7/2016 Brunch on board while cruising back through Ha Long Bay to the pier Arrive at the pier. Drive back to Hanoi with a technical stop. Luggage will be taken care by our porters and transported to the airport in advance. On arrival at the airport, we collect the luggage, check-in and catch the evening flight to Da Nang. VN 319 Daily HAN-DAD On arrival at Da Nang airport, luggage will be transported separately to the hotel in Hoi An. Transfer by buses to the hotel in Hoi An (30 mins). HOI AN - Once known as Faifo, Hoi An was one of the orient's major trading ports in the 16th and 17th centuries. After the Thu Bon River linking Hoi An to the sea silted up ocean going ships were no longer able to sail into town and trade moved 30km up the coast to Tourane, known nowadays as Danang.Despite the passing of 200 years and the ravages of the weather and war, the centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was in its heyday. Day 6: Danang – Ho Chi Minh City Breakfast at the hotel Luggage will be transported separately to the airport in advance. Transfer to the airport, collect the luggage, check-in and board a midday flight to Ho Chi Minh Cit. Ho Chi Minh City – also called Saigon by many locals, has a population of over 8 million and is the largest city in Vietnam as well as the center of industry, commerce, tourism and international communication. It was also called "Pearl of the Far East" formerly. Lunch at Indochine restaurantIndochine restaurant Check-in at the hotel after lunch before continuing for a visit of the bustling China Town (Cholon) with Binh Tay market and Thien Hau temple. Return to the historical centre and stop at Reunification Palace for a visit before continuing on foot back to the hotel passing by Notre Dame Cathedral, the General Post Office which has remained unchanged since its completion in the 1880’s, the City Hall and nearby Hotel Rex to the the Municipal Theatre, constructed in 1899 and gazing across the square to the Continental Hotel. Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Can Tho 6/7/2016 Buffet breakfast at the hotel Depart for a drive to Cai Be (120 km, 2hr 30min-3 hours). As you leave the bustling city behind the scenery changes to lush rice paddies, in the area referred to locally as the rice bowl of Vietnam. On arrival in Cai Be, embark on local boats and cruise to visit the Cai be floating market. Continue to visit some interesting home factories to see how rice paste is made, but also rice cookies, coco candies, as well as dried longan fruits. A short walk along a beautiful canal will lead you to Le Longanier Restaurant, a superb Indochinese villa located in a lush tropical garden by the river, surrounded by fruit orchards.Le Longanier Restaurant Lunch at Le Longanier After lunch embark on local boats and cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, start a biking trip on narrow lanes through Mekong Delta villages. DRAGON BOAT RACE The history of dragon boat racing dates back 2,400 years to China. It originated as a day to commemorate the death of Wat Yuen (Qu Yuan) - a poet, minister and counselor to the emperor during the Chu dynasty. The re-enactment of this event takes normally place on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in Asia. Dragon boat race on the « Ho Tay » lake: a physical challenge on the house lake of Hanoi, the West Lake. This activity requires team spirit and a little bravery. Each participant and his crew will test themselves at rowing these traditional style boats in elimination rounds. Up to 20 pax per boat Coffee, tea, mineral water and soft drinks will be available at the trestle in between each race.

Bai Tho Junks Bai Tho Boat company has a big fleet of traditional junks, small enough to be intimate and large enough to be comfortable. Boat capacities range from 4 to 18 cabins, all air-conditioned, with private bathrooms. The main living cum dining room is the place where you can watch the views and there is also a sundeck for those who love sunbathing.
