What is a small learning community? Small teams of teachers focused on student learning creating opportunities for personalized learning. Frequent communication for immediate academic and social-emotional intervention.

9 th Grade Academy (a small learning community) Increased graduation and attendance rates Decrease in behavioral referrals Transformation begins: students explore strengths, interests, career paths, and college opportunities Building resilience through staff involvement, support, and monitoring Student goal setting and monitoring of goal achievement: Behavioral and academic Intentional effort to develop confidence in organizational skills and focus Building relationships with every student and teacher Encouraging mentorships between freshman and upperclassmen through Link Crew

WHAT IS A CAREER ACADEMY?
