By this figures Zonguldak province is in the sixth place in the scale of Turkey. In this regard Zonguldak province hold the third scale in Turkey among 81 province after Ankara and İstanbul. Zonguldak has the public investment so far total TL Mining sector come to prominence in this investments. The industrial activities in the province is still based on mining and iron-steel industries.

TRANSPORTATION Despite the center of province is located in the main connection of land transport tee Ankara-İstanbul motorway that is the most important land connection in Turkey. The province is connected by railways particularly to Marmara Region and the other parts of Turkiye. The region has an important potantiality in terms of marine transportation with 5 ports located in the West Black Sea connected to Ukrain, Russia Fedaration, Romania, Greece, Georgia and Bulgaria.

Zonguldak Karaelmas University Zonguldak Karaelmas University (ZKU) that is founded on is one of the rooted universities in the country. University is in active with 11 campuses that is in Zonguldak center and 5 districts, 7 faculties, 3 institutes, 6 vacational high schools, 2 high schools, 1 conservatory. Total 14,670 students has been educated in the Zonguldak Karaelmas University. In the general of province 530 post graduate, 90 doctorate student has been educated in the University. However it is reported that 174 academicians are needed together with the existed 741 academicians.

Culture and Tourism Zonguldak where has the richest coal mines in Turkey is one of the unique provinces of Western Black Sea with the natural and historical beauties, the caves of a thousand years, the vast forests, the rich historical background. The counties of Zonguldak are Alaplı, Çaycuma, Devrek, Ereğli and Gökçebey. Gökgöl Cave, Fener District, Uzunmehmet Monument Park and Port in Zonguldak Central are the primary tourist attractions worth seeing. Alaplı is extremely suitable in terms of sea and tableland tourism. Huge and Municipal Beach Facilities, Bacaklı, Bölüklü and Kız Kulağı Tableland, Kavukkavla picnic area are the most important tourist attractions in the region.

Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Since 1919 in which it was founded Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry directs commercial, cultural and social lives in Zonguldak. It has been giving councelling service with its experience that it has gained and experienced in time in the Black Sea region requested by both local and international members. In the Chamber which is in active with its 2330 members from the 10 professional groups projects has been developed in order to improve investments and foreign trade. And the projects are applied. Provincial Represantative of Turkish Standart Institute, Etut Center for Promotion of Exportation Provincial Representative Foreign Economical Relations Representative are included in the Chamber. The Chamber has obtained in 2008 Total Quality Management Certificate of ISO 9001:2008.
