Originally sung by African slaves. These songs are still heard in churches in the southern USA.

DEAN MARTIN One of the representatives of this style is Dean Martin, who birth name is Dino Paul Crocetti. He was an American singer, actor, comedian, and film producer. One of the most popular and enduring American entertainers of the mid-20th century, Martin was nicknamed the "King of Cool" for his seemingly effortless charisma and self- assuredness. He and Jerry Lewis were partners in the immensely popular comedy team "Martin and Lewis". He was a member of the "Rat Pack" and a star in concert stage/nightclubs, recordings, motion pictures, and television. He was the host of the television variety program The Dean Martin Show(1965–1974) and The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast (1974–1985). Martin's relaxed, warbling crooning voice earned him dozens of hit singles including his signature songs "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody", "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You", "Sway", "Volare", and "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?".Jerry LewisMartin and LewisRat PacknightclubsThe Dean Martin ShowThe Dean Martin Celebrity RoastcrooningMemories Are Made of ThisThat's AmoreEverybody Loves SomebodyYou're Nobody till Somebody Loves YouSwayVolareAin't That a Kick in the Head?

Over time the choir grew in popularity and has continued to travel throughout the area. The choir also includes Kee's own children. In 1990, Kee founded the Victory in Praise Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir, or "V.I.P." in order to fellowship with various ministries, song writers, musicians and choir directors from all over the country. Kee has been active for more than 20 years in the music field. He is primarily known for mixing traditional gospel with modern contemporary gospel and for having a soulful husky voice. In 2007, Kee was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame

Rhythm and Blues Black workers in the USA moved from farms to cities. They mixed the blues and Gospel and played it with electric guitars.

Ray Charles was an American singer-songwriter, musician and composer known as Ray Charles and sometimes referred to as "The Genius". ] He was a pioneer in the genre of soul music during the 1950s by fusing rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues styles into early performances recorded by Atlantic Records. [4][5][6] He also helped racially integrate country and pop music during the 1960s with his crossover success on ABC Records, most notably with his two Modern Sounds albums. While with ABC, Charles became one of the first African- American musicians to be given artistic control by a mainstream record company. Frank Sinatra called Charles "the only true genius in show business", although Charles downplayed this notion. [10] He was blind from age seven. His best friend in music was South Carolina- born James Brown, the "Godfather of Soul", and like Charles an active lifelong Republican. The influences upon his music were mainly jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, and country artists of the day including Art Tatum, Louis Jordan, Charles Brown, and Louis Armstrong, though he maintained that he was most influenced by Nat King Cole. [11] His playing reflected influences fromcountry blues, barrelhouse and stride piano styles.
