Oliver North Oliver North was born on October 7, In San Antonio, Texas. He Was a decorated platoon leader in the Vietnam War, Oliver North began working in the White House for the National Security in 1981.

1980’s Political Scandal North was at the center of national attention during the Iran Contra affair a political scandal a of the late 1980s. North was a National security council member involved in the sale of weapons to Iran.

Full Disclosure In 1986, the scandal broke when reports in Lebanese newspapers forced the Reagan administration to disclose the arms deals.

His Crimes… Oliver North was responsible for sending the money from the arms sales to help support the Contra rebel group in Nicaragua He got felony charges brought against him. He was convicted of three felonies.

Freedom Felony convictions were overturned Charges dismissed in exchange for his testimony before Congress.
