European Meeting 14/11 – 19/11 WELCOME TO AVRANCHES

DAY ONE Once arrived in Paris we went to see the Tour Eiffel. Then we went to Montparnasse railway station and took the train to Avranches where, after a 3-hour journey, we met our host families.

DAY TWO The second day we visited the French school - Lycée Notre Dame de La Providence – with our French and German friends. In the afternoon each group presented their own findings about the partner regions.

DAY THREE After a whole morning spent at school, working on our commercial and tourist itineraries we had some leisure time in the afternoon: some of us visited Avranches, others went to Granville.

DAY FOUR On Thursday we got to Cancale, a little town famous for its breeding of oysters, we watched a short movie of how they’re breeded and we could have tasted them. In the afternoon, after eating, we reached Mont-Saint-Michel.

MONT-SAINT-MICHEL The mount, right on the border between Brittany and Normandy, stands on an outcrop of granite bursting through in the middle of a very flat bay, and has been a sanctuary since the year 709. Most of the buildings that now stand on the rock date from the XIII th to the XVI th centuries, and include the gothic Benedictine Abbey, the houses that went with it, and the fortifications to protect this strategic location.

DAY FIVE On Friday we spent the whole day at school working in mixed groups on the business and tourist vocabulary.

THE LAST DAY Unfortunately the moment of saying farewell had arrived. After a great week we had to leave our French and German friends. We took the train to Paris, then we went to Charles De Gaulle airport where we took our flight back to Italy
