 Heavenly Father, through these words help me understand the things you wish to teach me.  Dear Jesus, through these words let me feel the love you have for me as you feel your Father’s love for you.  Holy Spirit, through these words inspire me to live as a follower of Jesus and bring your love to everyone I meet today. Amen

The Priest says:  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all, OR  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, OR  The Lord be with you. We say:  And with your spirit.

 I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, (strike breast three times and say)  through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. 

Forgiveness and the freedom it brings  Jewish rabbis taught that forgiveness was limited  Jesus taught that God’s forgiveness is unlimited  Forgiving allows us to let go of bad memories that poison our spirit  Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting, but helps us move on  Forgiving isn’t easy, it requires grace  Forgiveness frees our hearts, minds and s ouls.

 For all those who died in the attacks of September 11, 2001, for the consolation of their families and friends, and for an end to terrorism, we pray to the Lord.  Lord, Sometimes we offend you by doing wrong and not loving as we should. You always forgive us whenever we turn back to you. We thank you for your wonderful love, for giving us the chance to begin all over again. Make us generous in forgiving those who hurt us and ready to make friends with people whom we have not liked. We ask you to do this through Jesus, your Son, who lives with you forever and ever. Amen [Continue with Our Father  ]

 Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
