What is a society? Society-A group of people who have developed patterns of relationships from being around one another. *These people often live in a community. Family is the basic unit that makes up society. Society can be seen at many levels: o Your family may live in a neighborhood, a type of small society. o The city or state you live in is a larger level of society. o Your school is a type of society. How does family impact society? Strong families contribute to strong communities. Children raised in a loving family are more likely to become caring adults. Children who learn peaceful conflict resolution will use those techniques to help solve community problems.
