Cash Assistance Eligibility JET (Jobs, Education, and Training) program has been renamed PATH (Partnership, Accountability, Training, and Hope) School Attendance is a condition of eligibility for children ages day Application Eligibility Period

AEP is a 21-day period where FIP applicants focus on resolving employment related barriers and prepare for successful participation in PATH. Assignments will be based on employment readiness. Successful completion is a requirement to be eligible for a FIP (cash) grant through DHS. Application Eligibility Period (AEP)

What type of paperwork is expected? DHS worker provides a referral form, which is needed along with the following: Driver’s license Social Security Card Contact information Previous employment Pay Stubs (if applicable)

Career Coaches Participants will work with a Career Coach closely, who will guide them through the process. They will work closely with participants to achieve the following: o Identify short and long term goals o Identify barriers o Identify training opportunities o Explain supportive services available to you

Weekly Assignments Participants and their Career Advisor develop weekly assignments which include: Barrier removal Skill and interest assessments Skill enhancement activities Job Search/Job Readiness activities

Career Preparation Activities There are a number of activities that will help prepare participants for job search: Employment application Resume writing Practice Interviewing Business writing (cover letters, thank you letters) Networking Dress for success Identify marketable skills Job retention Career trends Complete FAST (Family Automated Screening Tool) Financial budgeting Time management

Supportive Services Supportive Services may be provided for PATH participants on a case by case basis, including: Bus tickets/work and school related transportation assistance Gas cards Car insurance Car repair Driver’s license fee Interview attire/uniforms Work related testing fees

Successful Completion of AEP Weekly Review Meetings Completion of all 3 weeks of AEP Preparation for PATH (Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope.) which begins after sucessful completion of AEP

PATH # 1 GOAL FIND FULL- TIME FAMILY SUSTAINING EMPLOYMENT! Please understand that Michigan Works!.. Is not a temporary employment placement agency Cannot submit required documents to DHS for participants Is required to report compliance or lack of compliance to DHS
