Eruption of Santa Maria Volcano in Guatemala in 1902 The largest eruption of the 20th century. Also the largest volcano in Guatemala. The volcano is a stratovolcano. It damaged the southern part of guatmala

This picture is about how the land and trees were left after the eruption. It destroyed the land and the trees. Scientist found out that the volcano was about the erupt so they started to do thing about it

This is how cloud of the volcano looked from far.

There was a mudslide that created craters on the land There was a mudslide that created craters on the land. The towns and cities close to the volcano had ash mix with the air that caused it be dangerous for people to breath in and it damaged some of the crops.

This the Santiaguito. The Santiaguito is a lava dome made by the eruption of Santa Maria. It become into a crater.

The Santa Maria volcano is in Guatemala. In central America

The two plates that caused the eruption to happen was the Cocos plate and the Caribbean plate .
