MFS – Veteran Family Program A new four-year pilot extending the Military Family Services Program to medically-released members and their families for a period of two years post-release is now available. Veterans Affairs Canada and CAF have partnered to respond to gaps in services for members and their families as they transition from active service to veteran status. Edmonton is part of the new Veteran Family Program pilot (7 MFRC are participating). More information at any MFRC in Canada, through the Family Information Line ( ) and online at FamilyForce.ca. 18

Calian Military Doctor Network Program Aims to improve access to primary health care for military families. The program links military families with a family doctor through Calian's approximately 140 Primacy Clinics across Canada. Local MFRCs have been involved in promoting the Network to military families. Currently available in Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax and will expand to additional communities across Canada to locations where Primacy Clinics exist in CAF communities. Edmonton is slated as a next location in next round of implementation. 19

Entrepreneurship Training for Families Military Family Services is funding local workshops by University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management, to provide tangible skills and hands-on learning to those interested in starting their own business. Edmonton session is March 22-23, 2016 Session is open to military members, veterans, and their spouses, parents, and family members. Priority registration given to medically released/releasing veterans and military members, and their families. Those interested should contact the Edmonton MFRC for more information. 20
