Below is a picture of what you see. How many dinosaurs are standing in the lake? Explain how you know. Use words and mathematical language to explain your solution.

Math in Kindergarten

How can you help at home? Look for story problems in real life context. – We need five apples to bake a pie. We only have two apples at home. How many more do we need to buy from the store? Make comparisons when looking at amount of objects. – Who has more books you or your brother? – Who ate more cookies? – How do you know? Ask your child questions that require counting objects. – Practice counting objects in a special collection. – Count how many trees you pass while on a walk to the park.

Reading Challenge Some of the stories your child will read this year! Where is Home, Little Pip? Life in a Pond The Old Things What Will the Weather Be? Farming Then and Now I Love Saturdays y Domingos Plant Patterns

Literacy in Kindergarten
