Battalion Commander My name is Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Jonathon Prisk, I am the West Forsyth High School JROTC Battalion Commander for the school year. I was born September 4, 1996 in Huntington, West Virginia. This is my fourth and final year of JROTC. In JROTC I have been a Drill Team Commander and a member of the Color guard as well as the JLAB (Academic) Team for two years. Last year I was the Battalion Executive Officer (XO). My short term goals are to graduate from West Forsyth with at least a 4.0 GPA and my long term goal is to join the United States Marines.

Battalion Command Sergeant Major C/CSM Drake Carter

My name is Cadet Command Sergeant Major Drake Carter. I was born on March 31, 1998 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. I am a Junior at West Forsyth High School as this is my 3 rd year in Army JROTC. JROTC taught me to be self-confident and to always believe in myself no matter what I am doing. This program has made me into the leader that I never thought I could possibly be. My short term goal is to graduate from West Forsyth with at least a 4.5 QPA and my long term goals are to either attend a 4-year university or to serve in the United States Army.

My name is Cadet Major Bagley and I am the Cadet Executive Officer for this school year. I was born in Upstate, New York on April 27, I live with my parents and two brothers. This is my third year in the JROTC program and as a Co-drill Commander for the West Forsyth Drill Team. Last year I was the Battalion’s CSM. I am also apart of the varsity basketball team. My short term goals are to graduate from High School with a 3.8 GPA and become a Navy Corpsman for 4 years. My long term goals are to attend Wake Forest University and become a certified Pediatrician.

My name is Cadet Kyra Bixler. I was born in Jefferson City, Missouri. I have one little brother. This is my second year in JROTC as well as my second year on Drill Team. Last year I was given the opportunity to become a Drill Commander my freshman year and this year I am very proud and honored to take the position of S-1 for my Battalion. My short term goal is to graduate from West Forsyth with at least a 4.0 GPA and attend the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. My long term goals are to attend Wake Forest University, join the Air Force, and work in the medical field as a Physician Assistant (PA).

S-2 C/1LT Andrew Vernon

My name is Andrew Vernon. I was born on October 6, 1998 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. I am 15 years old, and I am a rising Sophomore. I left my first year of JROTC with multiple Academic Awards. Because of this class, I have learned many different leadership skills such as respect, responsibility, and a sense of duty. I am the Vice President of the West Forsyth Shooting Team. My short term goal is to graduate high school with a 4.0 GPA, and my long term goal is to attend NC State and pursue a career in the physical or life sciences.

In coordination with the SAI, I am responsible for reporting incidents that are essential to good order and discipline Assist in making periodic inspections of the security of weapons Conduct a sensitive items report once a month Conduct security checks of all JROTC areas including the arms room, supply room, and the classroom

S-3 C/MAJ Missy Yelton

My name is Cadet Major Missy Yelton, I was born on May 15 th, 1997 in Winston-Salem, NC. This is my senior year at West Forsyth. I am 17 years old. I have been in JROTC for my entire high school career and participated in JCLC camp during the summer of I also participated in color guard events during my junior year. After graduation from high school, I will join the United States Navy and go to college in order to become a trauma surgeon.
