Welcome To Mrs. Cadle ’ s Class

School Day The doors open at 7:10 each morning. Please do not leave your child at school before then; there will not be anyone to watch them. We will begin dismissal at 2:25. You may not sign your child out early after 2:00.

Special Activity Classes Monday – P.E. Tuesday – Library Wednesday – Music Thursday – P.E. Friday – Art

Transportation If your child ’ s mode of transportation changes (even for just one day) you must send a note or an . Please cc s to If your child rides the bus, please review the bus rules with them.

Snack Only food items are allowed for snack. You may send a water bottle. No other drinks please.

Lunch Lunch costs $2.50 Please use an envelope to send your child ’ s lunch money to school. Your child is responsible for turning in lunch money. We eat from 10:39 – 11:04 Microwaves are for teachers only. You are welcome to join us for lunch.

Parties Christmas and Valentine ’ s only

Birthdays Special treats are welcome. Please let me know in advance, so we don ’ t have more than one birthday treat scheduled for the same day.

Binders Will come home each day Please sign in 2 places: behavior calendar and assignment planner. Please remove and look over any papers that are sent home. Should also be used for any money and correspondence

Classroom Connections Goes with each theme Sent home on Fridays in binders

Homework Assigned Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Wednesdays homework will for the most part only be the math reteaching page and possibly a short spelling page. Review math facts, spelling words, and vocabulary words each night to prepare for tests.

Conduct We are a Capturing Kids’ Heart school, and we will be making a social contract in our classroom. Rewards will be given often for those making good decisions. A weekly Behavior Star will be chosen from those students who have not moved a card all week. We are also using Class Dojo. Please sign up for daily behavior alerts. Each nine weeks, three Good Citizens will be chosen from our classroom. Consequences are recorded weekly and not daily. Please initial the behavior calendar in your child ’ s homework planner each night. School wide rewards will be given to students who do not move their card more than 12 times each semester.

Weekly Papers Graded papers will be sent home each Wednesday to be signed and returned to school the next school day. If you need them longer send a note.

Progress Report A progress report will be sent out the fourth week of each grading period for each subject.

Tests Spelling tests will be on Fridays. There will usually be a pretest on the second week of our theme. Those making a 100 on the pretest will not have to retake the test the next week nor will they have spelling homework for the next week. (Tests will be averaged together for one Spelling grade for Language.) Vocabulary tests will be on Fridays. They will be the last Friday of our unit. (Tests will be averaged together for one vocabulary grade for Language.) Language tests will be given on Friday. Math tests will be given when instruction for that objective is complete.

Math Facts Tests Practice tests given most days. 25 mixed addition and subtraction problems 3 minutes through 1 st semester 2 minutes after that May want to get a set of flashcards to review EVERY night

Accelerated Reader Please encourage your child to read at home. We want the children to earn points, but the main goal of AR is building comprehension skills. Reading Bingo

Medicine All medication must be sent to the office with a doctor ’ s note. I am not allowed to administer ANY medication.

Conferences Please call and leave a message with the office or me to set up conferences. I am available during the day (12:35-1:20) and most afternoons (except Mondays).

PTO $5 Class with highest participation usually wins a party.
