The English Project 11th grade 5 points 2012

What is the English Project? A research paper in English required for every pupil doing a Bagrut examination in high school.

What is the English Project? Part of the Oral Bagrut Exam in the 12th grade. The Oral Bagrut Exam is worth 20% of the final Bagrut grade. A research paper of 800-1000 words An opportunity to use the vocabulary and skills you have learned

What is in an English Project? An introduction to the subject, a body (information about the subject) and a conclusion. A reflection A bibliography

What is the Presentation? The presentation is how the final paper looks. It is 20% of the total grade.

What is the Presentation? The presentation includes: 1. A cover page 2. A table of contents 3. The research paper 4. The bibliography (list of sources) 5. The reflection (what you think) 6. Copies of the source material 7. Your corrected assignments/tasks

Where Do I Find the Information? You must use at least 3 sources in English (not including Wikipedia). You can find information on the Internet, in the library, in magazines, on TV programs (The History Channel or Channel 8). You must print or photocopy your sources and include them in the project. You will lose points if your sources are not included.

How Do I Get Started? You will be introduced to two general subjects: Making the World a Better Place Survival

How Do I Get Started? You will choose a topic out of the list. You may choose to work alone, in pairs or groups of three. You will look for information on your topic. You will receive a schedule of assignments that will help you.

Following the Schedule Each assignment or task will be a small step in the process of writing your project. Part of the work will be done in class and your performance will be part of the grade. Handing in tasks on time is part of the project grade.

The Stages of the Project(1) Choose the topic you want to write about. Collect the information and print the material . Write the sources on the bibliography preparation page.

The Stages of the Project (2) Read the material and take notes. If you are working in a group, divide the work. Organize the notes and write the first copy (draft) of the research paper.

The Stages of the Project (3) Hand in the first copy of the research paper to be checked by the teacher. Correct the first copy and write the final research paper. Organize the project for presentation Hand the project in ON TIME.
