BEACH USER FEE INCREASE Parks are self sustaining, receiving no HOT, sales or property taxes Parks operate at a small deficiency, which is covered by reserves on an annual basis and allow no opportunity for investment in capital improvement projects Current BUFs are $8.00 – looking for an increase to $15.00

SHORT TERM RENTALS & HOT COLLECTIONS

TOURISM TRANSPORTATION STUDY PURPOSE – The purpose of the Tourism and Business Development Transportation Study is to identify potential traffic relief solutions from existing traffic congestion issues that impact tourism and economic development. The study will include the role of transportation in supporting tourism and economic development. The plan is intended to guide the Park Board and City of Galveston in developing short term and long term recommended solutions for further design to relieve congestion and recommend options for intra-island connectivity. TIMELINE – Kick off Meeting December 3, 2014 Draft of Summary Data Received March 31, 2015 Draft Report Due April 30, 2015 Final Report Due within 30 Days of Comments on the Draft Report OUTPUT – Summary of Data and Previous Plans and Studies Transportation Study Draft Report Transportation Study Final Report
