Academic Reading and Writing English 102: Develop paragraph level responses to academic readings such as those found in textbooks, newspaper articles, journal articles and research reports. Analyze academic readings and practice various writing styles to improve organization of and fluency in writing. English 103: Learn and practice reading, writing and critical thinking skills. Apply these skills to develop researched, organized, and correctly documented papers using academic sources. Discover how to find a variety of academic sources through an introduction to library research skills.

Academic Listening and Speaking English 104: Students learn and practice skills and strategies to understand lectures, take effective notes, and participate in American classroom culture. Students also practice leading class discussions.

How to register Courses carry general elective credit Cost: Refer to course fee in the Time Schedule Students who have not yet satisfied the English language proficiency requirement (ELPR) must register for one of these courses before they can register for other courses. Students who have already satisfied the ELPR (92 TOEFL iBT, 7 IELTS, 490 SAT, 21 ACT E/W) are also welcome to register for AEP courses.
