Unit one Women of achievement

Foreword For thousands of years the achievements of women have been largely ignored. History was written almost exclusively by men about men - men's accomplishments, and men's discoveries. Both in the past and at present, women contributed to world culture in many different ways. There are women writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders, artists, entertainers, and others.
