CPFC Selhurst Sixes CPFC Supporters’ Challenge Trophy 2012

Arrival & Logistics Please arrive in plenty of time for the first matches, which begin at 2pm sharp. Entrance on the day is through the main reception. Parking is available in the executive car park (entrance off Holmesdale Rd). Please arrive already changed if possible, as changing rooms will be at a premium. The home changing room will be open from just after 2pm. The ‘strikers’ lounge will also be available for changing from 1.30pm. The away dressing room is NOT to be used. There will be a teams’ briefing on the pitch at 1.45pm – please ensure at least one member of your side is present for this. The players lounge will be open from 1.30 – 8pm, and will be screening the FA Cup final. Food will be available on the day from around 3pm. Supporters are encouraged to attend. Entrance is free and blocks G/ H of the Main Stand will be open.

Tournament Organisation 20 adult teams will be competing in four leagues (A – D), with a knockout stage thereafter. Additionally, several U9s sides and Palace Ladies will be playing friendlies later in the afternoon. The main info point will be a whiteboard near the dugouts. Rich (tasty_snacks) will be there throughout the day. The four pitches (A – D) are marked out widthways, with pitch A at the Holmesdale end and pitch D at the Whitehorse end. Each league corresponds to the pitch. Matches start every 15 minutes from 2pm onwards, and last 12 minutes.

Rules Qualified refs are provided and normal association laws apply, with the exception that NO OUTFIELD PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PENALTY AREA. Any player shown a red card has to buy a round of Palace Ale for the opposition team. Matches are 12 minutes each, with no half time. Matches kick off every 15 minutes from 2pm onwards. This time is controlled centrally (not by the refs) so the sides will need to be ready to go. Please clear the pitch immediately after full time. Please report results to Rich at the main info point after full time. If you’re a lazy bugger these can also be sent by text to Boots are not to be worn inside the stands/ bar areas. NOTE THAT PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR BELONGINGS ON THE DAY.

Final Points The emphasis of the day is on participation, and giving fans the chance to play at SP. Yes we expect healthy competition, but remember that’s a fellow Palace fan you’re playing against – go easy on the tackles. Similarly please make it easy for the refs. They’re giving up their time to help make this day a success. We will be running a raffle on the day, with various Palace related prizes. Tickets will be on sale from the main info point by the dugout. The raffle draw will take place at 6pm (half time during the cup final). All the profit raised from this event goes to LBAST 2 – the fund set-up to buy season tickets for local schools and charities, encouraging more people to attend SP. Finally, our thanks to CPFC2010 and Phil Alexander, Kevin Miller and Anna McCarthy at the club for making this possible.
