Introduction The Barnstone Academy seeks to provide skills training and real work experience to young black graduates entering the job market –South African institutions of higher learning continue to produce graduates who are not easily absorbed into the mainstream economy. –Employers look for work experience and the lack of this experience is a real barrier for new graduates, even where these graduates have excellent academic results. We have identified an opportunity to assist these graduates, both within our own business and within a number of our clients, through providing real work experience in a challenging environment – this provides value to us, our clients & the graduates themselves. We have an established recruitment process and enjoy strategic alliances with a number of recruitment agencies to bring best-in-class graduates into the Academy –Graduates get practical exposure to the work we do for clients as a contributing team member –Our experienced professionals train and mentor these young graduates –We have an extensive client network always on the lookout for talent - once our candidates have gone through our rigorous six month programme, we endorse / recommend a number of them to our clients, with others being employed in our firm on a permanent basis after completion of their training

Meet the Barnstone Academy 2011 Intake Sample Barnstone has set very high expectations for this group and through our six month rigorous training programme on consulting methodologies, tools, fundamental consulting skills, the realities of working under extreme pressure & developing multi-tasking skills, they will come out ready to face the world. The graduates are screened, interviewed and recruited from diverse academic backgrounds - our initial permanent employee intake of 13, from a group of 30 which we have worked with on assignment, includes: –Geoffrey Marutla - A University of Limpopo, University of Stellenbosch graduate with Honours in Mathematics, and two Bachelor’s degrees with Honours in Applied Mathematics and Statistics & Applied Mathematics –Nkosana Dlamini - A 2009 University of the Witwatersrand Graduate with Majors in Accountancy and Business Finance – Lindani Nondaba - An Analytical Chemistry Graduate from the University of KwaZulu Natal, majoring in Science, Chemistry and Mathematics –Michael Gabane - A BCom Internal Auditing Graduate from the University of Pretoria. Michael majored in Internal Auditing, Financial Accounting and Business Management –Karabo Mamabolo – A University of Pretoria Graduate, with major in Economics –Sibusiso Ntshakala – A University of Zululand, with major in Industrial Psychology –Siyabonga Phakathi – A Human Resources Management Graduate from University of Johannesburg
