Delta Upsilon Missouri Chapter Recruitment Manual Spring 2014

Positions Goals Kansas City, St. Louis, and Chicago branch Leader – Remain in constant contact with supporting members and support them with any questions they may have – Sign an evenly distributed amount of new recruits between the 3 major cities – Look for members that will share our common values and mature to help our fraternity thrive – Stay within the budget and in constant contact with International Treasurer Supporting Members – Follow the leads that are assigned to them to the best of their ability – Remain in contact with all new members and help relay the true meaning of what it is to become a Delta Upsilon member – Stick to the Budget and remain in constant contact with branch leaders

Budget As a collective unit stay below a $25,000 budget Approve major expenses with international treasurer Keep an excel expense sheet documenting all purchases, who attended, and the outcome Approve all dinners and keep branch leaders informed of your expences

Officer Manual (Main Points) It is important to find new, well rounded, members that will be devoted and enthusiastic about the chapters future/current goals Always be courteous and provide potential new members with as much information as possible Focus on all aspects of the house; Campus involvement, Philanthropy, Social, and Internal qualities Try and remain in relaxed contact with all potential new members.

Officers Manual (Process) First start meetings off small in groups of 3-5, ensure that the recruit understands the standards of the house and allow for him to ask any questions. Take notes after this dinner on which members you thought were best suited and which assets they could bring to the house. Inform the branch head of the outcome of the event and fill out expense report Next allow the recruit to see what the house is about by inviting them to a larger event with many Brothers and other recruits present. Allow them to get a feel for the existing brotherhood and introduce them to other recruits so they can get an understanding of the potential people they will be pledging with. Take recruits on final small events to express an interest in them and make sure they do not have any other questions/concerns Encourage all recruits to attend Mizzous Formal Rush With approval, bid new recruits accordingly
