Mr. Proveaux Val Proveaux graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina as a Cadet Second Lieutenant, in 1982, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and also worked as an apprentice at the Charleston Naval Shipyard to become a nuclear qualified journeyman pipe-fitter. After attending college he was employed as a Human Resource and Operations Understudy manager with American Scientific Products. As a corporate human resource manager he was involved with training and development and other administrative duties. In 1990, after four corporate job changes and several company moves, Val became a public school teacher at Gallup High School in Gallup, New Mexico. He was hired in a teaching program similar to the TAPP program here in Georgia and received his Master’s Degree in Education while he satisfied the requirements for certification. While working In New Mexico, Val worked as a Gifted and Talented Teacher and Special Education teacher. Val then moved to Georgia and took a special education teaching position at Stockbridge Middle School. Val also worked at Henry County Middle School, Henry County High School, Pike County High School before coming to Cowan Road Middle School.
