Stakeholder Meeting February 2013

Expectations  Interview:  Date and time: Tuesday, March 5 th at  Duration: 45 minutes  Setting  Business casual setting  Group discussion (no individual interviews)  Location:  Content Knowledge:  No need to memorize or know everything  Speak to the process, how you were involved, and how it affects your child

Standard 1: Purpose & Direction  Description of the revision of the school’s vision, mission, and beliefs (purpose)  Each school revisited their vision, mission, and beliefs to ensure alignment to the system v/m/b  All stakeholder groups collaborated at each site  Input solicited through website, s, advisory, newsletters, etc.  Voting  New V/M/B adopted

Standard 1: Purpose & Direction LET’S PRACTICE!  What was your involvement in the creation of the school’s vision and mission?  How is the school implementing instructional programs and activities that support the purpose of the school?  Do you know the vision and mission of your child’s school? Do you feel it is a true reflection of the school?  Can you give examples how the school communicates its purpose?

Standard 2: Governance & Leadership

 Governing body enacts policies, procedures, and makes decisions that support the school’s purpose  System Strategic Plan  Principal autonomy regarding day-to-day operations

Standard 2:Governance & Leadership LET’S PRACTICE!  Who serves as our superintendent?  How are you informed of the policies and procedures of the school?  What chain of command do you follow if you have a concern?

Standard 3: Teaching & Assessing for Learning  High expectations for all students  Research-based, rigorous curriculum  Parent workshops that support increased student achievement  Equitable learning opportunities for all  Variety of instructional and assessment methods  Mentoring Program

Standard 3: Teaching & Assessing for Learning LET’S PRACTICE!  Are high expectations set for all students? How?  Are you happy with the quality of education your child is receiving? What could be improved?  Do you believe your child has at least one advocate in the school?  What role do the associates play in the learning process?

Standard 4: Resources & Support Systems  Media Centers  BRACE Advisors (HS)  Response to Intervention  Exceptional Student Education  Gifted  Speech  OHI  Autism  Guidance  The entire school community supports the learning environment.

Standard 4: Resources & Support Systems LET’S PRACTICE!  What services does the school offer that support the needs of your child?  Do you believe the school provides a safe learning environment?  Are all students provided equitable learning opportunities?  What role do support staff members play in the teaching and learning process?

Standard 5:Continuous Improvement  The School Improvement Plan is based on student performance data  Annual Stakeholder surveys are conducted  Student/Parent/Staff  Survey results are:  Reviewed by school leadership  Considered when the School Improvement Plan is written  Students are assessed at regular intervals to ensure academic growth ( Acc Math/Reading, FAIR, BAT, etc)

Standard 5:Continuous Improvement LET’S PRACTICE!  What do you think are the greatest strengths of the school?  Did you have the opportunity to have input into the School Improvement Plan? How do you believe the school is meeting these goals?  How do you believe the school could improve?
