Tips to buy a good Television a-good-television/

Tips to buy a good Television What TELEVISION tech is best? What is the difference between a LCD, LED and Plasma television? Will HD television would add value or buying a 3D television would be beneficial? Which screen size will go with my living room, guest room, hall? Buying a television could be a stressful experience even for a tech-savvy since the market is flooded with brands, features, screen sizes, colours, technology and flavours.

How to calculate the right size HD TV: The major problem that everyone faces would be with the size of the TV. Each of the family member would have different opinion on the size. It also needs the consideration of external factors such as aesthetical shell of the house, portability, space etc. How would you feel if it’s said that there is a standard calculation in deriving the size of a TV for respective room sizes. Bravo, that hits a ton, right. Yep the spinner here is that you need to ensure that your TV is large enough to fill your line of vision, and small enough to be sharp and clear. The idyllic screen size of a TV can be measured by multiplying the distance from the idealistic place you ought to sit from the TV by and then rounding this up to the nearest size.

For example, if you are to sit 80in away from your TV, then the ideal size is 42-inch (80 x 0.535= 42.8). Keep it in mind that, if you are looking ahead to only watch standard-definition sources, the bigger the screen gets, the worse the image will look.

Technology in Market Market is huge and grows as technology grows. Out there in market there are many different screen types, intended to work in different manner but all together generating the same results. Each of them are unique from one another inspite of the technology used and they have their own strength and weaknesses. Listed are some of the basics ought to be considered.

LCD TV: CCFL In recent times, all LCD TVs were backlit by always-on, CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent) lights. This could be considered as an old age technology as this is an outdated version and has been over stood by the LED method on many other expensive models, but this is available in the market on many budget models.

LCD TV: CCFL

LED TV: Direct LED The display of a LED TV are backlit by an array of LEDs (light emitting diodes) in a straight line behind the screen. This has facilitated in localising dimming – such that the instant adjacent areas of brightness and darkness could be exhibited in a more effective and efficient manner so that the contrast of the TV is upgraded. These TV’s are more warmly welcomed as they are more power preservative and are competent with wider colour scale than CCFL sets.

LED TV: Edge LED Edges of the panels are mounted by the LED’s of the backlight. This pack provides trim displays and put forward superior contrast levels to CCFL, but can’t achieve the same picture quality as directly lit LED sets. Most LED’s in market use this technology as this comes out in a framed budget.

LED TV: Edge LED

OLED TV The backlighting on OLED (organic light emitting diode) sets the backlighting is produced by fleeting an electric current through an emissive, electroluminescent film. This system produces better colours and higher contrast. It’s a new to the market and are expensive from the other ones such that even top brandsare finding it harder to bang the market.

OLED TV

Plasma TV Millions of tiny cells filled with a mixture of lifeless gases into a glass panel is called PDP (plasma display panel). Electricity stimulates the gases, enabling them to illuminate the pixels around the screen. Plasma, while debatably superior to LCD, is feasible only on large (42in+) screens and has been paused by many manufacturers.

Plasma TV

Curved TV Curved TV’s are taking the market with a storm. Some manufacturers are counting on the production of theses TV’s. These aren’t like the old CRT TV’s since these are rather curved inward. This is made keeping the end consumer in mind since the inward curve would make every pixel cantered to your eyes, providing more satisfying picture. But there are few disadvantages on these types of screen – such that – if a person sits on to one side at a long distance say about 40 degrees then the curve would start to affect the image’s geometry, compressing the image’s centre.
