3 Key Points Paper: Air quality evaluation of London Paddington train station Enclosed train stations hosting diesel trains are at risk of reduced air quality. Air quality at Paddington is worse than at a nearby busy roadside (Marylebone). NO 2 emissions regularly exceeded hourly EU outdoor limits.

Impacts on public and policy Diesel emissions are hazardous to human health. Lower air quality than EU limits. Modernisation of diesel train fleet i.e. Catalytic converters and transition to electric trains in the long term.
