Auction  Star the top 5 items that you put the most money towards.  Circle the lowest 5 items that you put the least amount of money towards.  Why were you willing to bid higher amount for some items than other items?

What are Values?  Anything in life that is important to us.  They determine how we live and how we tell the difference between right and wrong.

Value Auction  Why didn’t everyone want the same items?  Does this type of activity give us any indication about what we feel is of value to us in life?  What do you value most? What are you willing to spend the most money on?

Two types of Values  Tangible: Material things in our life Things that cost money to obtain. Ex. Jewelry, cars, clothes, etc.  Intangible: Non-material things in our life They don’t cost money. Ex. Love, honesty, kindness, etc.

Assignment  On a piece of paper, WITHOUT your name, write everything you’re wearing right now: bobby pins, earrings, watch, braces, even include hairspray, deodorant, perfume.  Once you have your list, put the estimated cost next to each item. Total the cost.

Perspective  $ is the yearly income for many families in 3 rd World countries… With this food, they must buy food, clothes, and other necessities.

Questions:  How does your list compare with the income of these families?  How would you survive if that was all the money your family had to spend in a year?  What would be the first things you would be willing to give up to reduce your figure?  What would be the last things you would be willing to give up to reduce your figure?

Questions:  How important is money to a society?  How important are the things we buy?  How important is it for us to have the latest clothes or technology?  Does money have all the answers to the problems people have?  What kinds of things can money not buy?  Are people who have more money more important than people who don’t?

VISION BOARD

Vision Board Evaluating our Values and Goals in Life What do you want in life? And how are you going to make it happen? A vision board is a collage of images, pictures and affirmations that represent your dreams and desires (aka values and goals). Other names for a vision board include a dream board, treasure map or vision map. Vision boards are a great way to make you feel positive, and are helpful if you are using the law of attraction by keeping your goals and values in mind.law of attraction Step 1 Go through your magazines and tear the images from them. Or go online and print out pictures you like that help paint a picture of your values and goals. Step 2 Go through the images and begin to lay your favorites on the board. This step is where your intuition comes in. As you lay the pictures on the board, you’ll get a sense how the board should be laid out. You might assign a theme to each corner of the board. Physical Health, Personal Development, Emotional Health, Career/Financial/Income, Experiences and Relationships, or it may just be that the images want to go all over the place. Or you might want to fold the board into a book that tells a story. Be wildly creative as you present your vision board.

Step 3 Glue everything onto the board. Add writing if you want. You can paint on it, or write words with markers. Get creative! Step 4 Hang your vision board in a place where you will see it often. Focus on it when you see it. Visualize those goals and values happening to you.
