PCFplus A program to enhance quality and promote the GHG market through research, training and outreach

The PCFplus program is additional to the PCF Objectives –enhance quality of PCF operations through reducing costs, risks, creating knowledge –promote the market for JI and CDM projects Features –supplemental to PCF, but financially independent –builds on / uses PCF experience –managed by Research Department, WB Institute –coordinated with other WB climate change activities –invites non-Bank partners to collaborate –PCF guidance through steering committee –financial contribution from PCF holding trusts, partners

A comprehensive research program Research topics –methodology, JI/CDM project cycle, GHG market, forestry and land use, legal issues, resource library Resources –managed by Ken Chomitz –new research positions in DEC created –request for ideas and proposals –collaboration with wide group of stakeholders –cooperation with NSS and AIJ programs

An efficient training program Training elements –operational training, host country workshops, development of training material, staff exchange –to promote Kyoto mechanisms Resources –managed by Word Bank Institute (to be discussed) –use PCF experience and research results as input –collaboration with outside partners

Targeted outreach Manage relationships –PCF Participants –other stakeholder –media Ensure –transparency –stakeholder feedback Operated by PCF in cooperation with EXT
