Scope  Houses for 8 participants at any one time  Six month outreach component to transition participants into independent living  Scope for participants at any one time

Challenges and Learning This initiative brought a set of challenges and learning for:  Participants  Services  Sector

Participants  Active participation  Personal responsibility  Hope and belief for a positive future  Choices in access to mainstream services  Empowerment and autonomy  Enhanced community connectedness  Establishment of a support network  Stability of environment  Life beyond illness

Services  Active participant involvement in planning, decision making regarding referral pathway and support/recovery plan  Reduced barriers to accessing services  Reduced barriers to partnering - Information sharing, reduction in duplication, integrative working relationships  Common language - shared referral pathway  Improved understanding of roles of services – enthusiasm to work together  Challenged status quo of working in isolation (silos)  Challenges existing culture of organisations  Improved clinical practice – application of recovery principles  Stigma reduction

Sector  Challenges to existing systems and processes – Local Partnership Agreement  Strengthening partnerships  Shared vision for local community  Identification of gaps and unmet need in local community  Shared ownership of local issues  Enthusiasm to pursue funding and other partnering initiatives
