“It just doesn’t stick in my brain!” Read it- Type it- Say it- Hear it To memorize test material, read your notes, and then type them. Next, read them aloud and tape-record them. Listen to the recording several times. TIP

Be Prepared For the Test Day Reduce stress effectively Eliminate distractions when studying/reviewing Appropriate settings to study Get plenty of sleep Eat a healthy breakfast Preview material once more before the test

Overcoming Anxiety & Dealing with Stress Visualization Therapy Focused/ Deep/ Slow Breathing Count to 20 backwards and slowly Refocus on positive outcomes Drink water Exercise Take breaks during studying (10 min. break/hour) Be as prepared and organized as possible

When taking the test…. Read the directions carefully. Pay attention to last minute verbal instructions, listening especially for changes to written directions. Ask questions if you need to clarify directions or test questions. all Read the question and all answer choices before marking anything. Begin with easy questions and come back to harder ones Review your work

What if I still do poorly? Review the questions that you got incorrect and correct them. Study habits/skills take time to develop (practice) Meet with the instructor for tips and further knowledge Extra Credit? Alternative Testing Method?
