SURFACE AREA & VOLUME RECTANGULAR PRISM – AREA RECTANGULAR PRISM – VOLUME

RECTANGULAR PRISM - AREA The surface area is the sum of all the areas of all the shapes that cover the surface of the object. Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism = (2ab) + (2bc) + (2ac) (a, b, and c are the length, height, and width and account for all 3 sides of the Rectangular Prism) In other words, the surface area of a rectangular prism is the area of the six rectangles that cover it. But we don't have to figure out all six because we know that the top and bottom are the same, the front and back are the same, and the left and right sides are the same.

RECTANGULAR PRISM - AREA a = b = c =

RECTANGULAR PRISM - AREA Top Front Side Front Back Left Side Right Side Top Bottom

RECTANGULAR PRISM - VOLUME Volume is the measure of the amount of space inside of a solid figure, like a cube, ball, cylinder or pyramid. It's units are always "cubic", that is, the number of little element cubes that fit inside the figure. The formula for the volume of a rectangular prism is: V = length x width x height
