NHS Scholarships! The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), parent organization of the National Honor Society, has awarded NHS Scholarships since 1946, providing more than $12 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS members. Information is available in the NHS Scholarship section of the website or on the link below : NHS Scholarship Student applications and all recommendations must be completed online. The deadline for student applications is February 16, You and your principal must submit recommendations and certify applications by February 24, 2016.

Scholarship Essay Questions As part of the online application, students will be asked to answer two narrative questions. The narrative questions are provided here for those applicants who wish to prepare the response prior to accessing the online application. Describe the importance of the four pillars of National Honor Society and how they have shaped your development and future goals. Service is one of the pillars of National Honor Society. Reflecting back on your service projects, share a significant takeaway from your experience and how it has had an impact on your life. Responses to each question should be 250 words or less.

NHS Scholarships! Any eligible senior member may apply for the scholarship. The scholarship criteria include the four pillars of NHS, as well as financial need, demonstrated by eligibility for participation in the National School Lunch Program. The number of scholarships awarded will increase from 200 to 300 national semifinalists. All semifinalists will receive $1,500 scholarships. Twenty-five national finalists will receive an additional $1,500—for a total of $3,000. The national winner will now receive a total of $15,500.

NEW: First 5 points are due Wednesday January 20th, 2016 and remaining 5 are due before the end of 2 nd semester. Turn them in to Divya Iyer (stapled with name) or to Mrs. Messing in the counseling office Dues are $10 - please turn them in to Mrs. Messing 2nd semester they go up to $15
