The browser allows you, via a connection to the internet via your Internet service provider, to access web pages stored on computers (servers) that are connected to the internet. A search engine is a piece of application software that sits on a powerful computer (a server) on the Internet. The main purpose of a search engine is to search for information on the Internet. They are software programs that search for websites based on keywords that the user types in. The main search engines currently be used are Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
