ETRE FEMME the media tool to encourage men to voice out against violence towards women. Influential Men of Mauritius to deliver a 2 minute message to say NO TO VIOLENCE. Survivors too gave their testimonies. BACKGROUND The program was produced - 16 days of activism to end GBV. 24% of women in Mauritius have experienced violence and almost same proportion of men have perpetrated violence. Women alone will not end the tragedy. Men must be part of the struggle.

Help of Gender Links and made lots of telephone calls. I spent 2 days to finalise the list. I booked the studio for the recording of the messages. Recording took 2 days.

The public has her mobile number: The Ministry of Gender Equality uses our platform very often for explanatory programs about their services to the population. So they have been motivated to go forward. Anielle a listener whose husband was perpetrating GBV said she is no more dependent on her husband. She has launched her own SME further to our regular program with the National Women Entrepreneur Council.

Men are no more hiding behind nick names to speak out about the matter. Rajen – Mohamed – Gerard – Wesley are among the listeners who call in regularly. Men and women are having live interactions about the matter of GBV.
