Survivors too gave their testimonies. 50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA

The public at large. Men who perpetrate GBV. Men and young boys. I strongly believe that men talking to men can bring the change. Survivors of GBV so that they go forward disclosing any form of violence happening under their roof as well as young girls. The concerned authorities. TARGET AUDIENCE

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA PROCESS/METHODOLOGY Influential men as well as women survivors to raise the awareness and interest of listeners. 16 men and 16 women consulted for gender balance. Help of Gender Links and made lots of telephone calls. I spent 2 days to finalise the list. I booked the studio for the recording of the messages. Recording took 2 days.

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA Service delivery RESULTS After the campaign collaboration has been strengthened with the Family Protection Unit – Mrs Michele Thomas – Chef Police Inspector is giving her full support to ETRE FEMME. The public has her mobile number: The Ministry of Gender Equality uses our platform very often for explanatory programs about their services to the population. The public has the hotline of the Ministry for any help: 139 or 119. The Ombudsperson for children works closely with us too. Their Hotline is 177

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT Great impact on our listeners (and viewers) as men have accepted that their partners be empowered and women have on their side followed the example which the survivors gave in their testimonies. So they have been motivated to go forward. Anielle a listener whose husband was perpetrating GBV said she is no more dependent on her husband. She has launched her own SME further to our regular program with the National Women Entrepreneur Council.

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA MEN FOR CHANGE Influential Men’s participation in the campaign played a transformative role in the mentality change through their message. Perpetrators of violence live in ETRE FEMME: ‘Mone al fer prison a coz violence aster mone comprend ki mo Madam ine bien prend patience ar moi mone decide pou sanze mone aret bat li. Mo p viv bien avec mo madam ek mo 2 tifi’

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA PUBLIC PARTICIPATION More and more men are calling in live on radio to disclose GBV. We have a network supporting our program. Men are no more hiding behind nick names to speak out about the matter. Rajen – Mohamed – Gerard – Wesley are among the listeners who call in regularly. Men and women are having live interactions about the matter of GBV.

50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA CHANGES AT WORK PLACE Gender equality is human equality. Men and women at work are more gender-sensitive. 50/50 BY 2015: DEMANDING A STRONG POST 2015 AGENDA CHANGES AT HOUSEHOLD LEVEL EQUALITY BEGINS AT HOME Men admit that women are contributing in the progress of the family. ‘Mo madam travail li pe contribue dans la caz sans oublie ki li pe get mo bane zanfan’. Si mo rent avan li mo commence met manze or dife. ‘Madam pane faire pou bate. Si ena problem bizin dialogué’. Both men and women are understanding each other.
