The Percent Proportion 1.Using the iPad, click on the safari icon. 2. In the search (URL) bar type in kahoot.it. 3. In the game pin box, type the code In the nickname box, type your group number and class hour. For example if you are in group 3 and 4 th hour math, your nickname will be group3/4 th. 5. Wait for the teacher to start the quiz. 6. Once the quiz has started, you will read the questions as a group and discuss the correct answer. 7. Select the answer by clicking on the color/shape that corresponds with the correct response. Follow the steps below to complete the activity. This task uses: iPad Learning Objective(s): Students will use the percent proportion to solve problems. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Math Playground 1.With your group, complete problems 1-8 on the percent proportion task worksheet. 2.Be sure to show all your work (each step taken to solve the problem). 3.Once you have completed the problems go to google chrome on the laptop. 4.Type the following link into the search bar Discuss with your group the information given, and what you needed to find. Input your values into the online visual. 6. Click calculate to check your answers on your worksheet. 7. Pay close attention to the graphs. You may manipulate the values by changing the part, whole, or percent. This will create a new problem. Work with your group to determine the part, whole, or percent of a problem. This task uses: Math Playground (online visual/calculator) Learning Objective(s): Students will find the part, whole, or percent using the percent proportion and check their work using an online visual. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

QR Codes 1.Wait for the teacher to hand you a QR code. 2.When you get your QR code. Use the ipad and go to the Inigma app. Scan the QR code. 3. Solve the question that comes up. Be sure to show all your work. You may do so on this sheet or on the back of your QR code. 4. Once you are finished. Take a picture of your work. 5. Log into blackboard.cpsb.org. Go to my website. Click on assignments. 6. You will upload your picture to the discussion board titled QR Code Percent Problems. (title it your group number/class hour) 7. Once you have uploaded your image. Choose another group’s image and provide feedback on their work. Solve real world problems using qr codes. This task uses: I-nigma QR Codes Learning Objective(s): Students will solve real world problems using the percent proportion. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

It’s Your Turn!!! 1.As a group, create a real world problem that requires a percent proportion to solve. 2.Next, think about how you would teach someone how to set up and solve the problem using a percent proportion. (Pretend that the person you are teaching has never heard of a percent proportion, how would you explain the process to solve one?) 3.Use the table below while planning your “lesson”. 4.Then with the iPad you will go to the camera and record a video explaining each step to solve. 5.On the iPad, find the send anywhere app. Click the orange and white send arrow. Select your video. On the laptop, go to 6. Click receive. When the video pops up, right click, select copy, and paste it to the desktop. 7.Log into Blackboard, go to assignments on my website and upload your video as a file in the Discussion Board entitled Percent Proportion Video (title it your group number/class hour). Watch another group’s video and follow instructions on thread to give feedback on their video. Students will create a video that teaches their peers how to set up and solve a percent proportion. This task uses: iPad Learning Objective(s): Students will create videos that teach their peers how to set up and solve percent proportions. Students will view videos from other groups and provide feedback. R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable Real World ProblemPercent Proportion Used to Solve Explain the process to solve using the percent proportion.

Percent Proportion Task Solve each problem. Be sure to show each step.
