 Completion of pilot phase of ICRM in 2014  Need to roll out  Establishment of programme drivers - PPTICRM  National conducted 4 Provincial workshops facilitated by HST  Outcome –PPTICRM composition, team leader, roles and responsibilities, communication channels. - Steering Committee ( enabler) composition, roles and responsibilities  Background of PPTICRM

 Core business of PPTICRM –move / change red and amber colours to green and sustained ( National Core Standards)  6 weeks Operation Phakisa Health lab in 2014 came up with initiatives to improve service delivery from ( 8 work streams)  One recommendation from the scale up and sustainable work stream was establishment of delivery units at different levels of Health Management for ICRM to be realised.

Current status of PPTICRMs at Provinces

 Provincial PPTICRMs in some provinces not formally appointed resulting in low levels of commitment.  Ideal Clinic activities are not seen as part of core responsibilities.  District champions are also responsible for other programs, e.g. Risk Management, MCWH,NCS, Infection control and complaints managements,etc.  Team members are allocated other ad hoc responsibilities by their immediate supervisors Challenges of PPTICRMs

CONCLUSION  The is a need for provinces/districts to operationalise resolutions of the Operation Phakisa ICRM Lab as approved by Departments of Health and The Presidency.
