 Responsibility Personal- Social- Self-motivated effort in order to direct decision making that will enhance personal well being. Accepting ideas and beliefs of others while also respecting and caring for peers feelings in order to accomplish a task.

 In teaching the components that allow that allow students to become personally and socially responsible there are 5 goals. 5 Goals 1.Respect 2. Effort 3.Self-direction 4.Helping 5.Transfer outside the gym

 Benefits 1. Promoting sense of responsibility will be vital to success 2. Addresses multiple needs 3. Creates safe judgment free environment 4. Reduces class management issues

 Limitations 1. Takes away from “time on task” 2. Limited by the teacher

 Students: 1. Independence 2. Problem solving 3. Self-discovery 4. Social competence

 Teachers 1. Responsibility as a teaching tool 2. Change classroom role 3. Sense of purpose

 Based off everyone's experience in the P.E department where do you feel teaching Personal and Social Responsibility falls on the teaching spectrum?

 5 components 1. Counseling Time 2. Awareness Talk 3. Physical Activity Lesson 4. Group Meeting 5. Reflection Time

 Social Responsibility and Justice Equity, social justice, and developing interpersonal skills and relationships in a physical activity setting. Assessment  Self assessment  Student evaluation

 Informal Assessment  Feedback on responsibility should be a continuous process  Formal Assessment  Journals, projects, daily logs etc.

 TPSR is directly correlates to NASPE standard 5
