Getting Started with Grad LINK

Grad LINK is a service designed to help students in their graduating year prepare for the transition from school to work or further education. What is Grad LINK?

As a participant in Grad LINK Network on LinkedIn, you will have access to postings and articles linking you to: job postings employer recruitment sessions career related workshops and information Why participate?

You will learn: Inside tips about employers and job opportunities How to make connections with employers, other students and alumni to build your network How to set career goals and the strategies to achieve your goals How to enhance your Experience Plus Transcript Why participate?

What you choose to participate in is up to you! The more involved you are, the more prepared, connected and confident you will be in your job search We encourage you to: register for Experience Plus and have your involvement in this program tracked on your Experience Plus transcript create a profile on so you can begin networking with employers and find helpful career information attend Career Services workshops and career related events read the information and articles sent to you by Grad LINK Your Commitment

Experience Plus provides you with an official transcript that documents your extra-curricular activities at Brock Experience Plus can track: On-campus jobs On / off-campus volunteer placements & Internships Workshops Certificates & Awards Professional development activities Skills It’s a great addition to your resume and portfolio as an official document showing that your skills and experiences have been verified by Brock University Use your Experience Plus transcript to help set you apart from competition when applying for jobs, awards, further education What is Experience Plus?

To activate your Experience Plus account follow these four easy steps: 1. Log into the student portal: my.brocku.ca. 2. Select the “Applicant & Student Self Serve" tab on the top menu. 3. Select the "Student Self Serve – Menu" link. 4. Select the "Career Services", “Plus Programs", and “StudentData” menus. Register for Experience Plus

Before you join, review the student guide Get Started with LinkedIn This five minute video tutorial will provide you with helpful information on how to create a profile and how to use the tool. Be sure to check out the other five videos in the series to learn how to build your professional brand and make the most of your profile. Joining LinkedIn

Once you have created a profile, you will now need to join the Grad LINK LinkedIn Group on LinkedIn. The Grad LINK Network is a group created specifically for students as part of the Grad LINK service. Students, recent alumni and employers are encouraged to join this group to connect with one another and share career and job related information and opportunities. Grad LINK Network
