Luther Burbank Public Art Mosaic VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ART CLUB MEMBERS!!!!!! ARTICLE FROM THE MERCER ISLAND REPORTER

JOSE ORANTES JOSE IS THE ARTIST WHO HAS CREATED THE ARTWORK FOR THE MURAL. THE STUDENTS AT BOTH THE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WILL BE CREATING SOME OF THE PANELS/BORDERS WITH THEIR ARTWORK, WHICH WILL BE TURNED INTO MOSAIC ART. YOUR VOLUNTEER TIME WILL BE SPENT HELPING THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS.

HOW CAN I HELP? Grades 3-5: These workshops will be on held on Tuesdays, after school from 4:00-5:15pm, at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, beginning on December 8th, 2015 and ending on March 1st, 2016 (there will be no sessions during winter and mid-winter break).

MIDDLE SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY The workshops will be on Thursdays, after school from 3:00pm-4:30pm, at Islander Middle School, beginning on January 7th, 2016 and running through March 3rd, 2016 (there will be no session on Feburary 18th during mid-winter break).
