Pen and Ink Indian ink is waterproof when dry. Complete your drawing and then add watercolour washes to areas. Keep building up the washes to get more intense colours.

3) Glazing Glazing is a watercolor technique that uses a thin, transparent pigment applied over dry existing washes. Its purpose is to adjust the color and tone of the underlying wash. You should use very little pressure, so as not to disturb the underlying layers of paint. A very soft brush is also a requirement. Non staining, transparent pigments are ideal for glazing as they can be applied layer after layer to achieve the desired effect.

PART 3) RESEARCH Two watercolour artists are presented. You also will be given a list of watercolour artists that you can research.

Purpose: Find your own expression in watercolour landscape painting As part of the sketchbook process journal, research one watercolour artist whose work you like. In your sketchbook, draw ideas from their paintings that you can use in your final painting.
