Jacquette tartar scaler This is a dental tool that is used to remove tartar and plaque from the surface of teeth. It is used when tartar and plaque is built up in the mouth.

They are commonly used in the medical field. Kelly forceps These are medical scissors used to grab small objects. They are both used to grab items that are too large for fingers to get hold of, as well as to hold a single object so the hands can remain free to do other things. They are commonly used in the medical field.

Killian vaginal speculum This is a speculum used for canine insemination

Knowles bandage scissors These are used when you need less of something (bandages, dressings, or gauze) if there is too much. These are medical scissors that are used to cut bandages, dressings, and medical gauze.

Lister bandage scissors These are medical scissors used for trimming tissue or cutting sutures.

Mayo scissors Straight-bladed Mayo scissors are designed for cutting body tissues near the surface of the wound. As the straight Mayo scissor is also used for cutting sutures, or stitches, it’s also sold as suture scissors. Many surgeons use separate pairs of straight-bladed Mayo scissors for tissue and suture cutting since using the scissor on sutures tends to dull its blades.

otoscope An instrument used for examining the ear. Used to make it easier to examine the ear.

Pet piller A device used to easily give a small animal medication. Used to make it easier for the vet or owner to give their patients/pets their medication.

Pig tooth nipper A tool used to cut down the teeth on a pig to prevent over growth and discomfort. Used to cut the teeth on the pig to increase comfort.

Pill splitter An instrument to cut a pill into smaller portions to allow for easier administration for the pet owner. Used to allow for easier splitting of pills to create the correct dosage.

emasculator What: An emasculator is a tool used in the castration of livestock. Its function is to simultaneously crush and cut the spermatic cord, preventing hemorrhaging while still detaching the testis from the animal. When: When castrating livestock Why: To keep the animal safe and prevent life threatening blood loss.

Halstead mosquito forceps What: Fine Artery Forceps, Halsted-Mosquito, straight When: When: Used during surgery Why: Halsted-Mosquito forceps are typically used to clamp off smaller vessels that control the flow of blood

Hartman mosquito forceps What: Small hemostatic forceps used to hold delicate tissue or compress bleeding vessels. When: During surgery Why: to hold delicate tissue or compress bleeding

Tom Cat Catheter A catheter is a slim plastic or silicon tube Is placed inside the urethra of a Tom Cat when they are in urinary distress. Examples of urinary distress are bladder stones or blockage The catheter is also used during surgery to collect urine instead of allowing the urine to soil the table

Restraint Gloves They are large, padded gloves, with gripping material These gloves are used when handling dangerous and frightened animals They protect against injury i.e. scratching and biting

Stethosope Is a listening device Is used to listen to heart, lung and gut sounds in animals and humans The stethoscope is used in almost every single examination

Stomach Tube Is a rubber tube It is used to feed nutrients directly to the stomach Also used to flush out the digestive system or straighten the system Is used when an animal is in dietary or digestive stress

Tarter scrapers single ended Is a handheld metal or plastic instrument This instrument is used to scrape tarter off the teeth on both animals and humans The tarter scraper is also used occasionally as a probe.

Bone Plate Bender What: An item used to bend a plate to the appropriate configuration. When: used in bone fracture surgery, maxillofacial anterior cervical plate system and surgical implant procedures. Why: When a bone plate needs to be bent. Many different varieties used

X-ray measuring caliper Why: Calipers are used to measure the thickness of an anatomic part. What: This measuring tool is nothing more than a ruler with a fixed bar and a moveable bar parallel on it. When: When an animal is going to be x-rayed the body part needs to be measured.

Alligator Forceps What: strong toothed forceps having a double clamp. When: They are used during surgeries or after to remove objects Why: used for grasping small objects or removing items from small cavities in the body.

Autoclave What: a self-locking apparatus for the sterilization of materials by steam under pressure. When: after instruments have been used Why: to sterilize instruments

Automatic dose syringe What: A device consisting of a barrel, plunger, three-way check valve, tubing, and needle. When: It is used when drawing liquids, designed to be a faster than by hand. Why: It is designed to draw liquid from a reservoir and deliver measured amounts to a receiver or to inject parenteral doses.

Ecg monitor It is used to montor the animals signs to make sure everything is ok. It is used when they are very sick or in sugery Tells into about the paient

Ear notcher For idenification of a animals and tells about the past of the animals With any animal that needs to have some kind of information to the farmer Cuts of a small notch of the ear

Half curved tissue forceps Used mostly for the handling of body tissues. They are used for handling small tissues, and having to deal with flesh. They are need for taking small tissue from body parts.

Dental Tooth Punch A device to take teeth out with. Its used to take animals teeth out, to make a clean pull.

Barnes dehorner A device to extract horns. They are used on any animals that have horns that need to be removed.

Depth probe and explorer Device used to explore around parts of the body that cannot be reached or touched.

Ambu Bag Device used as a fibulator to help make animals breathe. Used for an animal who cant breathe.

Horn gouge Is used to remove horns on goats and sheep. When they need to be pooled Why? So that they can look good for shows and also so they cant hurt other people an animals

Incisor and root extracting forceps To extract or remove roots from an animals mouth They are used when animals need there teeth removed or when they have an infection and they need to take out the infected roots why? So that an animals infected gums can be removed and there not in any more pain

Insemination pipette An insemination pipette is used to put sperm into an animal without them having to you know… They are used when an owner wants there animal to get pregnant why? Because an owner wants to pregnate one of there animals

Intravenous drip set An iv drip set is used to give fluid to animals when they are sick or in surgery when they are under Anastasia or in surgery Why? To keep them hydrated

Iris hook Flexible iris hooks, or retractors, can be used to facilitate cataract removal by phacoemulsification When? Whenever it need to be used Why? To remove phacoemulsification

Differential cell counter Differential blood count gives relative percentage of each type of white blood cell and also helps reveal abnormal white blood cell populations (eg, blasts, immature granulocytes, or circulating lymphoma cells in the peripheral blood).

A regular ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images, but can't show blood flow.
