The APBA Game Co. has many current and past seasons to choose from. Additionally, there is an Olympic Hockey set and three All-Time Great Teams sets.

APBA Hockey can be played solo or with a friend. To begin play you’ll need the APBA Hockey Game Manual… …a pair of dice… …and two teams.

In hockey, each team has 5 skaters on the ice that are rotated in and out of the game in shifts. In today’s modern game, teams use 4-lines of forwards, 3-lines of defensemen, and a goalie.

Each player is rated to play a position…

…Center… …Left Wing……Right Wing… …Left Defenseman……Right Defenseman……and the goalie.

Place each skater in their appropriate position.

Next, select a Forechecking Strategy for each team.

Think of the Forechecking as the number of Forwards on the attack…

Forechecking 3 is the most aggressive, but leaves your team vulnerable to giving up more shots on goal…

Forechecking 2 provides a good balance of scoring and defense...

…while Forechecking 1 provides the least amount of scoring, it provides the best defense.

Do you send all three forwards on the attack leaving your goalie vulnerable?

Or do you keep them back on defense sacrificing your ability to score?
